How To

How to make a perfect omelet

Omelets is one of my favourite breakfast foods. But how do they turn out so perfectly? I've tried many different methods and recipes, but none of them seem to work! Today, I'd like to share some tips with you in order to make delicious and fluffy omelets every day.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. The eggs must be fresh from an organic source and kept at room temperature until they are ready to be cooked. The yolks and whites will not form properly if they aren't kept cold enough. Your omelets will look strangely colored if this happens. If you're going to cook them immediately, it is best if the eggs are still warm.

You can also separate the egg before you add it to the pan. The yolk and white should not be mixed together as this can cause the omelet's curdle.

You could end up burning the bottom half of the egg if the egg is added directly to the heat source. Instead, microwave the egg for 10 seconds before adding it to the pan. The microwave heat will cook the egg just right without making it too hot.

Next, let's discuss mixing the eggs. Mix eggs well together. To do this, grab the bowl of the mixer and turn it upside down. Now shake the bowl vigorously. By doing this, the egg is thoroughly mixed with the air in the bowl.

The fun part begins - you need to pour the milk into your mixture. First, pour half of the milk into the beaten eggs and then fold the eggs gently into the remaining milk. Do not be alarmed if there are still egg streaks visible. Once the omelet flips, these streaks will disappear.

After folding the eggs, place the pan on medium heat and wait for the oil to start sizzling. Add 1/4 cup butter to the oil and swirl it around to coat all sides of the pan. Carefully open the pan's lid and add salt to the pan. A pinch of salt will prevent your omelet from sticking in the pan.

Once the omelet has formed completely, cover the pan and let it set for a few minutes. Flip the omelet by using a spatula. Cook the second side for a minute or so. Take out the omelet and place it in a bowl.

This recipe is best when used with whole milk. But, you can use skimmed milk as well.
